It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of
Read memories condolences and thoughts that people have written.
G-d of Mercy, shelter him forever under the wings of Your presence, May his soul be bound up in the bond of life eternal, and grant that his memories inspire us always. |
Rabbi David Zeller, over the past twenty-five years, has developed an international reputation as a musician, lecturer, and workshop leader in Jewish mysticism, spirituality and meditation, as well as in transpersonal psychology (the psychology of body, emotion, mind, and soul). Whether he is singing or teaching, David's work focuses on touching the heart as much as the mind and his quiet presence informs his presentations with a unique power.
From singing, dancing and learning with Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach in 1966, to eastern meditation practices, enriched through two years in Israel and a year in India, he returned to the West in 1972, helping to pioneer the newly emerging field of Transpersonal psychology. In 1981, he formed the Network of Conscious Judaism, and in 1985, moved to Israel to continue his pioneering integration there. He helped establish Yakar: Center for Tradition and Creativity, and Shevet ("sitting"): Center for Jewish Spirituality and Meditation.
He works in Israel, North America and Europe with adults, college students, and youth at risk. He teaches through all the streams of Judaism, from renewal to orthodox.
